SPARTANBURG, SC – Spartanburg deputies were asked to remove a drunk man harassing people at the Buddhist Temple in Spartanburg Sunday night around 7:30.

They say when they started escorting 46-year-old Edward Glen Waldrop off the property he got belligerent, starting cursing loudly and jerking away.

He became aggressive so they arrested him and tried to force him down on the hood of the patrol car.

They say he pulled away and grabbed a deputy around the shoulders trying to assault him.

Deputies tried to pull Waldrop away and they all gell to the ground.

They tried to get Waldrop’s hands behind him so they could handcuff him, but he continued to resist.

A deputy pulled their taser and warned him 3 times to stop resisting.

Waldrop didn’t so they had to stun him twice.

They took him to the hospital and then to jail.

Waldrop is charged with public disorderly conduct – drunk, malicious injury to personal property less than $2000 and resisting arrest W/Assault.
