One person was killed early Sunday morning in a hit-and-run crash in Florence. 

According to Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutchen, the incident happened in the 2800 block of West Palmetto Street in Florence. A pedestrian was hit by a car and died at the scene. 

The person’s identity has not yet been released. According to Cpl. Matt Southern, the vehicle is unknown, but it could possibly be a silver vehicle with damage to the front passenger side and the passenger side mirror cover missing. It might have headed toward Timmonsville.

South Carolina Highway Patrol’s MAIT Team is investigating the crash.
