LATTA, SC (WBTW) – The State Highway Patrol website reported a fatal accident on East Leitner Street Wednesday afternoon.
Lane Corporal David Jones with the SC Highway Patrol says the driver was traveling west on East Leitner Street when they ran off the road to the right, ran off the road on the left and the car overturned several times.
Jones says the driver was not wearing a seat belt, and was ejected from the car.
Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley said the victim was 37-year-old Danny Ray “Scotty” Sweat of Latta. Sweat died as a result of the injuries he sustained from the wreck.
According to real time traffic, the crash was reported at 3:44 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation by the SC Highway Patrol
