FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Republican hopeful Dr. Ben Carson was in the Pee Dee today with hopes of picking up last minute voters just before the Republican Presidential Primary.

As Carson took the stage at the Florence Civic Center, he talked about protecting Christianity, taking a stance against ISIS, and finding solutions to a failed healthcare system.

Supporters say Carson is unlike any of the other candidates.

“He’s a listener and allows you state your point and isn’t argumentative,” said supporter Michael Andrews.

More than 700 people were there to show their support for Carson, and what people say they like most about him is that he refuses to attack the other candidates.

“I hate it when people get sidetracked in personal attacks and deviating away, and it seems to be working so well for these people. It’s almost like the coliseum where everybody wanted to go to the coliseum and see the blood and gore while Rome was burning. Somehow we’ve got to wake up and deal with the real issues,” said Carson.

Still, some say even hours away from the Republican Presidential Primary, they’re still undecided.

“I like all of them. I haven’t decided yet. I’ll probably decide tomorrow,” said voter  Earlene Johnson.

Carson says he hopes the people of South Carolina will pick someone who has a history of solving complex problems because he believes he’s the best one for the job.

Carson is scheduled to be in Greenville Saturday for election night.
