Donations needed in Horry County for W.V. flood victims

MYRTLE BEACH (WBTW) – Hundreds of Red Cross workers have been sent to West Virginia where flooding took at least 20 lives. The flood victims are in need of donations and an Horry County woman is doing her part to help.

“A lot of my family and friends have been devastated by the flooding, in particular on the Elk River,” said Leigh. “The whole town is probably going to have to be bulldozed and rebuilt.”

She is collecting donations and working with the Red Cross’ disaster program here in South Carolina to make sure those items get to people in West Virginia who need it most.

Leigh says items needed most are:

They can be dropped off all weekend at the Myrtle Beach Coin Laundry: 612 S Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
