The Grand Strand Community Council is collecting gently used denim in a fundraising event called “Teens for Jeans” from now through Sunday, Feb. 15. Donations can be left at the office in Coastal Carolina University’s Ingle Hall or at the Grand Strand Community Council office at University Place.

Teens for Jeans is a national campaign in partnership with Aéropostale and DoSomething.org, the largest nonprofit organization for young people and social change. Teens for Jeans encourages young people across the country to run a jean drive in their school or community to help provide clothing for youth experiencing homelessness. Over one million young people are homeless in the United States every year, and one of the most requested items is a pair of jeans.

Aéropostale is a primarily mail-based specialty retailer of casual apparel and accessories principally targeting teenagers ages 14 to 17 years old.

The Ingle Hall office is located at 160 Township Circle on CCU’s main campus in Conway. University Place is located off S.C. 544 near the campus.
