CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Michael Slager, the former North Charleston officer accused of killing Walter Scott, does not want his trial date changed.

The court documents were filed on Monday, May 2 in response to Ninth Circuit Solicitor Scarlett Wilson request. Wilson wanted the trial date either be moved up from October 31 to August, or postponed until May 2017.

We’re told she was worried of schedule conflicts between the Slager case and the Dylann Roof trial.

Former North Charleston police officer Michael Slager is charged with the murder of Walter Scott after a traffic stop in March of 2015.
