MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) As Dino Capone’s School of Rock prepares to host their graduation concert Friday night at the House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach one of the four bands sat down with News13’s Matt Gittins to talk about their journey to the big stage.

Their reasons for beginning the program vary.

“Growing up I always loved listening to the radio,” Vital Signs lead guitar player Shelley Sasser said.

“At first they thought I was just kidding because I was so young,” Drummer Nicky Corrente said about the time he told his parents he wanted to start playing.

“I just got this urge to be in a band,” lead singer Bella Tessa said.

It was plain and simple for bass player Noah Yankovich.

“I tried out a bass and I liked it,” Yankovich said.

Four young musicians once with only aspiring talent now united together as a band known as Vital Signs

“They (my parents) didn’t believe me when I said I wanted to do this but now that I’m finally doing it my whole family and my friends are very excited for me,” Tessa said.

Looking back at those first few days and first few notes it’s hard to imagine how quickly they’d get here.

“I just kept working at it and practice always makes perfect,” Yankovich said.

“I would have just been blown away. I would have been like is that me?!” Sasser said.

Confidence beaming as they perfectly jam to “The Who”. Yes they say there will be nerves when they take the House of Blues Stage Friday night but those will be overpowered by the moment of accomplishment.

“I was just always afraid of the feedback that someone would judge me,”

Tessa said. “Then I realized that there’s a bunch of people out there and almost all of them are going to judge me but I can’t take it seriously because if people who are close to me that know what they’re talking about say that I can do it then I can do it.”

“It’s really calming,” Corrente said when he hits tat first note on the big stage. “It’s a way to let out your feelings,”

PRESS RELEASE ON CONCERT FROM DINO CAPONE’S SCHOOL OF ROCK

Dino Capone’s School of Rock is proud to announce the graduation of four youth rock ‘n’ roll bands.  Talented musicians ages 8 to 18 have rehearsed for the past twelve weeks in preparation for graduation from the school’s unique Rockin’ Band Program, which is exclusive to the region.

Taking the main stage at the House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach on Friday, February 19, 2016, will be: Against The Grain, Nearly Falling, Solid Ground, and Vital Signs.  The doors open at 7:00pm.  The show begins promptly at 7:30pm.  Tickets are only $6.00 in advance and are available at Dino Capone’s School of Rock and at the House of Blues Box Office.  Tickets are $10 at the House of Blues the day of the event.

All ages are invited to the family friendly rock ‘n’ roll graduation concert.

Dino Capone’s School of Rock’s Rockin’ Band Program provides music students ages 8-18 an incredible opportunity to play in real rock bands and perform at the best venues in the area. The bandmates of similar ages and skill levels rehearse songs, choreograph their sets, and choose their own band names.

Young graduates of Dino Capone’s School of Rock have been shocking audiences with performances well beyond their years since the school opened in 2009.

The school is open to music students of all ages and skill levels.  The next Rockin’ Band Program auditions for students, ages 8-18, will be held in March 2016. Aspiring music students interested in this type of opportunity are urged to contact Dino Capone’s School of Rock for private lessons preparing them for the next band program.
