DILLON, SC (WBTW) -Hundreds of people had an early Thanksgiving lunch Thursday afternoon.

The Vision Education Center served some of the things you’d expect for Thanksgiving like fried chicken, sweet potatoes, sweet tea.

“Besides the Hurricane, they don’t have anywhere to go and for the ones that fit that category every year, the majority of them don’t have Thanksgiving dinner so they come and dine just like everyday and they are just so grateful, you know, to have a meal like this,” Director of VEC Soup Kitchen Inez Wynn said.

More than 350 people enjoyed a free lunch Thursday. Event organizers  say most of the food was donated, but they are always looking for more donations to help the homeless.
