DILLON, S.C. (WBTW) – This year Dillon school district 4 hopes to better communicate with parents by adding text message updates to the SchoolMessenger system.

SchoolMessenger is an automated call system that alerts parents to information like:

  • Out of School Suspensions
  • Student Absence
  • In-School Suspension
  • School Orientation
  • PTO Meeting Reminders
  • School Picture Day
  • Overdue Library Books
  • Tardies
  • School closings
  • Missing Textbooks and Textbook Fees
  • School activities
  • Other important information for parents

The Director of Technology and information systems Paula Yohe said about 450 parents are already signed up for the SchoolMessenger text messages.

Yohe said, “The purpose of using school messenger is so we can foster better communication with our parents, and the more ways we can communicate with them the better it will be.”

The Dillon School District Four also has a mobile app called DSD4.
