MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Cedric Page, the president of the Dillon High School Band Booster Club, joined News13 NOW at 9 a.m. on Friday to preview the 14th annual Dillon Battle of the Bands.
The event is Tuesday, October 9 at Memorial Stadium in Dillon. Gates open at 1 p.m., and performances begin at 2 p.m.
The Dillon Battle of the Bands is the only competition in the state that features show-band or HBCU-style marching bands. There is not another competition like it within a 100-mile radius of Dillon.
More than 20 bands are expected to perform, including three college marching bands. More than 4,000 participants and spectators are expected.
