COLUMBIA – Dillon Christian rolled past Colleton Prep 42-0 Saturday to win the SCISA Class A state title and wrap up the school’s first unbeaten season.
Quarterback Michael Minges ran for 191 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Warriors (13-0) to their third championship. He also threw for 164 yards and two scores. Tyreke Toomer caught five passes for 121 yards and a touchdown, including a score on the second play from scrimmage.
Diaz Alexander ran for 82 yards and a score. Luke Price piled up 15 tackles.
Saturday marked Dillon Christian’s first trip to state since winning back-to-back state titles in 2008 and 2009. The victory gave them revenge on a team that eliminated them two of the last three years.
