Deputy’s car hit by wanted fugitive in Surfside Beach

SURFSIDE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – An Horry County deputy’s vehicle was hit Tuesday afternoon while assisting the U.S. Marshals in Surfside Beach.

Brad Dorn with the U.S. Marshals confirms the deputy works with the U.S. Marshals fugitive task force, and while on a call in the Surfside Beach area Tuesday afternoon, the deputy’s car was hit. Dorn says no one was hurt in the collision.

Agents were attempting to arrest the fugitive on a Myrtle Beach police warrant when the wanted person backed into the deputy’s car. The suspect got away from officers. Dorn did not release the suspect’s name or a description of the person.
