Deputies search for man in connection to a deadly shooting in Robeson County

ROBESON COUNTY, SC (WBTW/PRESS RELEASE) One person is dead and another is wanted after a shooting Monday evening.

The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to 17438 Highway 71 North Lumber Bridge in reference to a person shot around 4:47 p.m.

April Oxendine, 45, of Shannon was found dead in the back seat of a pickup truck when deputies got to the scene.

Deputies say after further investigation that the shooting happen on Russell Rd., Shannon.

Two other people were in the vehicle when the shooting happened. 

Ronchelle Raquan Lewis, 18, of Fayetteville is wanted by the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office in connection to this deadly shooting. Lewis is charged with first degree murder, discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Lewis is also wanted in Cumberland County for felony probation violation, assault by pointing a gun, communicating threats and resisting a public officer.

The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Criminal Investigations Divisions investigate this case.
