HUBERT, N.C. – A man and woman in Hubert have been charged with child abuse after they encouraged their children to fight each other, according to the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested Bobbi Gemmell and Enrico Rivera Jr. on the charge of felony negligent child abuse inflicting serious mental or physical injury.
They were arrested after social services said they had received a report two juveniles were involved in a fist fight orchestrated by their parents and guardians, and deputies obtained a video of the juveniles fighting with others egging them on.
Gemmell and Rivera were both given a $7,500 secured bond.
