Officials are investigating after a young dad was found dead at a house in Williamsburg County on Tuesday afternoon, authorities say.
Casey Moon, age 25, of the 200 block of South SC Highway 41/51 in Hemingway, was found unresponsive and later died, said Sgt. Juan Ballard of the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Ballard said that around 1:30 pm, deputies responded to a home in the 3000 block of South SC Highway 41/51 in Hemingway after Moon was reported to be unresponsive.
“Williamsburg County EMS responded to the scene,” Ballard said. “Deputies were advised that the victim was no longer responsive by Williamsburg County EMS.”
Moon had a young son and was a graduate of Hemingway High School, according to his Facebook profile.
The Williamsburg County Coroner’s Office was contacted to respond to the scene, Ballard added.
The victim has been sent to MUSC for an autopsy.
