KINGSTREE, SC (WBTW) – On Sunday night, deputies with the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office were called to Kingstree about a carjacking.

A press release from Alex Edwards of the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office says a 47-year-old man was pistol whipped and robbed at gunpoint on Cherry Avenue. The suspects stole the victim’s 2002 Cadillac, his cell phone, and his money.

Deputies say the victim was flagged down by a black female as he was driving down Cherry Avenue.  When he stopped, two black males armed with handguns ambushed him.

The man received injuries to the back of his head during this incident and was taken to an area hospital.

There have been no arrests made in the case yet, but  Edwards says the car was located by deputies.

The Sheriff’s Office says the investigation into this incident is ongoing and asks that anyone with information concerning this incident call 843-355-6381 ext. 4516.
