LAKE CITY, SC (WBTW) – A Lake City High School student was taken into custody early Wednesday morning in connection with a threat made on social media.

Major Mike Nunn with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office says deputies took 17-year-old Days’Yannie Aremony Gamble into custody after the student reportedly posted the threat Tuesday evening.

Gamble was booked into the detention center at 5:55 a.m. Wednesday morning and charged with disturbing schools.

“Gamble made a threat that there would be a mass shooting at Lake City High School and also the Lake City Alternative School,” investigators said in the press release.

Investigators started looking into the threat shortly after 12 a.m. Wednesday morning, confirms Major Nunn.

On Tuesday, another Lake City High School student was arrested after a gun was found on school property.

“We are investigating all threats to our schools as soon as they come to our attention and if the facts warrant, we will make charges whether the threats turn out to be real or not,” Chief Deputy Glen Kirby said in the press release.  “We will have a zero tolerance for all firearms brought on to school property.  The safety and security of our children at school is our top priority.”
