A Delaware man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to armed robbery and kidnapping of a store clerk. 

A press release from the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office says 19-year-old Nazjier Ferrell, of Castle, Delaware, pleaded guilty to armed robbery and kidnapping in court on Thursday. A judge sentenced him to 12 years in prison on each charge, but his sentences will run concurrently. 

Charges remain pending for co-defendant Destiny Kristyle Simmons, the report also says. 

According to the release, officers with the Horry County Police Department were called to the Scotchman at 1272 Dick Pond Road in the Surfside Beach area for a robbery on May 7, 2017. The clerk was forced into a vehicle with the suspects and held at gunpoint before she was able to escape in Columbus County, North Carolina.
