Former Coastal Carolina running back and 2017 sixth round pick of the Denver Broncos De’Angelo Henderson returned to Conway this weekend to host his first De’Angelo Henderson youth football camp.
The event was hosted at Brooks Stadium, home of the Chanticleers and was free for all those in attendance. The campers had the opportunity to compete in various drills to help them build their skills on the field and were offered life lessons by Henderson and the other coaches during the three hour session.
Henderson left Coastal as one of its more decorated athletes in history. He was a two time All-American and a finalist for the 2016 Walter Payton Award given to the nations top offensive player. Henderson set the NCAA Division record by scoring a touchdown in 35 consecutive games beginning in 2014 and stretching to nine games in 2016.
Henderson will be entering his second year in the NFL and played in five games last year with Denver registering 13 yards on seven carries to go along with two catches for 36 yards, one of which went for a 29 yard touchdown, the first of his career.
