Deputies are investigating a deadly shooting at the Cambridge Apartments in Lamar Saturday afternoon.
According to Lt. Robert Kilgo with the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies are investigating a shooting that took place at the Cambridge Apartments, off of East Jackson St. in Lamar.
Darlington Coroner Todd Hardee identified the victim as 18-year-old Germaine McCoy, who died at the scene. The case is being called a homicide.
Kilgo tells News13 Devon Demarco Rembert has been charged with murder in connection to this case. He has also been charges with possession of a weapon during a violent crime. A judge denied Rembert bond at a hearing on Sunday.
The investigation is still ongoing and a SLED team is assisting with the crime scene.
