LONGS, SC (WBTW) – A deadly crash has been reported in the Longs area of Horry County Friday evening.

Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol report one person is dead following the crash on Highway 9 E, near Rum Bluff Boulevard.

The crash happened around 4:45 p.m. in the parking lot of the A Plus Auto Sales. A person driving a Mercedes SUV was traveling north in the parking lot when they struck two parked cars, hit a fence and went into a ditch before overturning.

That person was not wearing a seatbelt.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Patty Bellamy says the person killed in a 56-year-old woman. That woman’s name is expected to be released Saturday afternoon.

It’s not clear whether anyone will be charged in the crash.
