UPDATE: The Florence County Coroner has released the name of the person who died in Friday’s wreck along I-95.
Curtis Duncan, 69, of Charleston died in a single-vehicle crash that happened around 5:45 Friday evening.
FLORENCE CO, SC (WBTW) – One person has died in a crash on I-95 in Florence County.
Trooper Tyler Tidwell with Highway Patrol said the crash happened at 5:40 p.m. on I-95 near US 76, 1.4 miles south of Timmonsville.
A Freightliner tractor-trailer traveling south ran off the road to the right, corrected, and then ran off the road to the left, Tidwell said. The truck then struck a tree and caught on fire.
Only one vehicle was involved. The driver died at the scene.
No further information on the driver is available at this time.
