DARLINGTON – When choosing where play a sport in college finding the ideal system is an important consideration. That was one of the major reasons Darlington guard Frankie Johnson chose the Citadel.
Johnson, a three-time all-state selection, signed with the Bulldogs Wednesday. He said it was clear during the recruiting process that the program was a good fit.
“When I went on my visit I liked the way they practiced, the fast pace of the game,” he said. “That’s how we do it in Darlington, so that was more of my playing style.”
He also likes that it’s close to home so his family and friends will have more opportunities to see him play. Johnson is the all-time leading scorer in Darlington High School history.
