The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office arrested a woman on Friday after completing a narcotics investigation. 

A press release from the office says 31-year-old Amber Joye Ellis, of Darlington, was arrested on Friday following an investigation by the office’s Drug Enforcement Unit. Ellis has been charged with trafficking in heroin, two counts of distribution of heroin, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a schedule II narcotic, and possession of a schedule IV narcotic. Ellis appeared before a Darlington County magistrate on Saturday and has been released from the Darlington County Detention Center on $19,000 bond. 

According to the release, a search warrant was served for a house on Amberwood Drive in the Marlowe Mobile Home Park on Friday. During the search, officials seized 11.5 grams of heroin, 2.5 grams of cocaine, 16 schedule II and IV pills, weight scales, and $3,881. 

“Investigators with our Drug Enforcement Unit obtained evidence showing Amber Ellis was trafficking illegal narcotics from her residence,” says Sheriff Tony Chavis. “I am proud of my Drug Enforcement Unit’s continued effort of getting this poison out of our community.
