DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – One person was killed in a crash involving a log truck in Darlington Thursday morning.
Cpl. Sonny Collins with the South Carolina Highway Patrol says a Chevy SUV was traveling north on Pinedale Road around 11:05 a.m. when the driver disregarded a stop sign at the intersection of Pinedale and Billy Farrow Highway.
The SUV was hit by a log truck traveling east on Billy Farrow Highway, Cpl. Collins says. The crash killed the driver of the SUV and a passenger in the vehicle was taken to a local hospital. The log truck driver was not injured, Cpl. Collins adds.
Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee identified the person killed in the crash as Stephania Encalada, 19, of Darlington.
No charges will be filed in this crash, confirms Cpl. Collins.
