Darlington to spray for mosquitoes beginning May 16

DARLINGTON, S.C. (WBTW)- The City of Darlington will start spraying for mosquitoes in two weeks.

Mosquito spraying will be provided citywide, weather permitting, on Mondays and Tuesdays beginning Tuesday, May 16, and continue as long as needed to help control the adult mosquito population. Hours will range from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m.

If workers see people outside, they will not spray the chemicals. The city asks everyone to make sure to bring it pet bowls during scheduled spray days.

The city released this list of things it says residents can do to help control the mosquito population, and reduce chances of being bitten:

Residents with questions or comments should call the City of Darlington Street Department at 843-398-4035.
