DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – Two Darlington men were arrested within minutes of an armed robbery Wednesday night on Oak Street, according to police.

Officers with the Darlington Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery on Oak Street Wednesday night around 8:43 p.m. Police were able to identify two suspects in connection with the crime after speaking to the victim.

Christopher C. Welch and Ryan S. Yarborough, both of Darlington, were apprehended within minutes of the robbery, reports Chief Danny Watson. Both men are charged with a single count of attempted armed robbery and are being held at the Darlington County Detention Center.

Welch and Yarborough were arraigned Thursday morning and are each being held on a $30,000 cash bond or $60,000 surety bond, according to Chief Watson. No further arrests are expected in connection with the robbery, Chief Watson adds.
