The Darlington Sheriff’s Office announced in a press release Friday that an arrest has been made following an investigation in to alleged sex crimes dating back to 2012. 

Raymond Kevin Warren, 51, of Darlington is charged with 10 counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor, under 11, first degree and 12 counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor, between 11 and 14, second degree. 

Investigators say from 2012 to 2016 Warren “engage in sexual battery with the juvenile victim.” 

“Protecting children is near and dear to my heart and is our part of our main goal,” stated Sheriff Tony Chavis. “This is why I started the Special Victims Unit; to tackle these difficult investigations and protect our most vulnerable.”

Warren is being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center and is expected to appear before a Darlington County Magistrate on Saturday. 

The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges are expected in neighboring areas.
