DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – On Tuesday, Darlington County School District announced a revised calendar to account for the days missed due to inclement weather.
Students in the Darlington County School District missed seven student days as a result of Hurricane Matthew. As required by law, the district will make up three of the missed days by using the inclement weather days noted on the district calendar. As a result, Feb. 20, March 17, and May 12 are now regular school days. The Darlington County Board of Education has not made any decisions about the remaining four missed student days.
Thursday, Oct. 20 will be a regular school day. Students will not be dismissed early on Thursday. A revised calendar will be posted on the district’s website for parents to download as needed.
Several deadlines and dates have changed as a result of the recent inclement weather. The end of the first quarter has been changed to October 28th and report cards will be sent home on November 4, 2016. The deadline for families to apply for the magnet programs in the Darlington County School District has been extended to Friday, October 28, 2016.
