A Darlington County man was hospitalized after he was shot during a domestic dispute at a home on Thursday afternoon, said Darlington County Sheriff J. Wayne Byrd.
The incident happened just after 6 pm at a home on Joye Road just south of Lamar, Byrd said.
Two men in the house got into an argument over a dog and the argument escalated with one man shooting the other, Byrd said.
The man who allegedly shot the other has been taken into custody, Byrd said.
The victim, who was shot once, was taken to McLeod Medical Center for treatment, Byrd said.
