DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol investigates a deadly crash in Darlington County.
Sergeant Bob Beres says Kevin Horton, 26, of McBee, was driving a Ford F-150 west on Old Camden Road. Beres says Horton went off the left side of the road and hit a utility pole.
The crash killed Horton’s passenger who was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected.
Horton is in jail at the Darlington County Detention Center. He’s charged with Felony DUI resulting in a death.
Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee identifies the victim as Jason Wayne Mills, 26, of Hartsville. Hardee pronounced Mills dead at the scene.
