MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Organizers announced Friday that Darius Rucker will headline the Carolina County Music Festival this June.
Rucker is a three time Grammy Award winner born in Charleston. According to a press release, Rucker first attained multi-platinum status in the music industry as former lead singer and guitarist of Grammy award-winning group, Hootie & the Blowfish. Since re-introducing himself to the world as a country artist, he has released four consecutive albums to top the Billboard Country Albums chart.
“It is important to CCMF not only to host country’s hottest artists, but to also host artists from the Carolinas – specifically South Carolina,” said Bob Durkin, President of Full House Productions. “Being that he was born and raised in Charleston, S.C., Darius Rucker’s Southern energy will represent CCMF’s Carolina roots well.”
According to the CCMF website, Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean will also be headlining the event. For more information, visit the website here.
