LAKE VIEW, SC (WBTW) – Former Lake View high school and SC State standout Darius Leonard was honored by his hometown on Saturday afternoon for his accomplishments thus far in the NFL.

Leonard was a 2nd round draft pick of the Indianapolis Colts in 2018 and had one of the best seasons in the league at the linebacker position.  Darius led the league in tackles with 163, had 7 sacks, and a pair of interceptions helping the Colts make the AFC divisional playoffs.

At the Lake View community center, numerous coaches, Lake View staff, and family spoke about Darius about how proud they were of him and what a great role model he’s been for the kids and those in Dillon County.  Leonard also received a key to the town and his number “53” jersey will be put at the rec center for display too.  The Colts linebacker spent time with fans, signed jerseys and took pictures and thanked all those will helped him along the way.

Leonard is a 2013 grad of Lake View high and went onto shatter many records at SC State, en route to getting drafted into the league last April.
