DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – The CRC center in Darlington County held its 30th annual Martin Luther King Jr. memorial celebration Saturday afternoon.
The goal of the event is to reflect on peace, hope, love, and understanding in the community.
Leaders throughout the Darlington community and the state attended to talk about positive changes for boys, girls and parents in a round-table discussion.
One Darlington High School student who was there says programs like this help bridge the gap between the past and present.
“I came out to make a difference in the community. Hopefully some things that I said today will help somebody who needed to hear something from a young person,” said Terah Lane.
The next memorial celebration will be Monday afternoon at the Saint James United Methodist church in Darlington.
