LONGS, SC (WBTW) – Two people were arrested Saturday after a conflict stemming from an eviction at a home on Benton road.
Raul Denis with Horry County police says officers first responded to the home Nov. 9 in reference to a trespassing call and reports of a person carrying an assault rifle.
Reports say the landlord went to a home to serve eviction papers. When the landlord arrived, there were people standing outside in front of the home who began shouting and swearing at her after she served the papers. Reports say one of the people advised another to block the woman’s car in the driveway with another vehicle so she couldn’t leave. The reports also say one suspect was waving a gun around and making threatening remarks.
Warrants confirm the suspect was armed with two handguns and an assault rifle and threatened to shoot the landlord.
Denis says the couple returned to the residence on Saturday to find that the landlord had carried out the eviction without them and called the police. Officers say the eviction was not for the couple’s property.
On Saturday at 11 a.m., officers arrested the couple on warrants from the Nov. 9 incident.
Steven Mills, 43, is charged with two counts of kidnapping and two counts of pointing and presenting a weapon at a person, and Victoria Mills, 45, is charged with two counts of kidnapping.
Booking records from J Reuben Long say both suspects were released Sunday evening.
