The Marion County Sheriff’s Department charged a pair with the manufacture of a meth after a lab discovery at a home on Tyler Road in Marion, officials said.

Major Brian Wallace says they have been investigating the home for awhile. Friday evening around 6 pm deputies found items linked to a meth lab.

Deputies discovered the alleged meth lab after a traffic stop in which one of the pair was driving under suspension, Wallace said.

Authorities then followed the couple to the home off Tyler Road and found the meth lab, according to Wallace.

Deputies charged Jason Dale Webster, 33, with manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and driving under suspension. Stacey Lee Cooke, 30, was also charged with the manufacture of methamphetamine and driving under suspension.

The sheriff’s department-combined drug unit, emergency management and city of Marion Fire Dept were there to assist in the investigation and clean-up of the meth lab, deputies said..

Wallace said that the HAZMAT team from Columbia came to collect and clean up the hazards that were produced.Webster and Cooke are currently being held at the Marion County Detention Center.
