Rising country artist, Kurt Stevens is a singer, songwriter and guitarist. Not only is Kurt a classically trained pianist he is also a self taught guitarist and singer. Originally from South Florida, Stevens is a recent graduate of Florida State University and remains passionate about the laid back beach lifestyle he grew up with on the coast. From surfing to fishing – he loves it all.
Stevens grew up with a rich and eclectic musical influence that comes through in his songwriting. His Dad made sure he grew up listening to all of the legends, including The Allman Brothers, Johnny Cash, The Eagles, AC/DC, and his personal idol, Elvis Presley. Stevens always knew he wanted a career in music and understood that hard work and commitment would be required in addition to talent, so he worked after school and on weekends at a local jewelry shop to save up for his first guitar, a Gibson Songwriter Deluxe, which he still plays on stage today.
His first public singing performance was at his High School talent show, where he performed Chris Young’s “You”, earning the winning spot. Stevens has continued performing at festivals and clubs across the Southeast and on the college circuit while completing his degree at FSU.
Stevens has recently relocated to Nashville to promote his five song, self titled demo EP, released in September 2015. The EP, features five original songs all written by Stevens. Included on the EP are “Makin’ Moves and Movin’ On,” “Take Me Home,” and “Little Black Dress.” “Makin’ Moves and Movin’ On” is currently on-air on Hot Country 94.7.
His first music video produced for “Makin’ Moves and Movin’ On” gained over 10,000 views quickly and is currently featured on CMT.com/artists where he is currently ranked 50. The video is also being aired on the “Country Music Today” Show on the Heartland Television Network in over 20 states.
