Count On Kids: Girl Scouts participate in beach & river sweep

BISHOPVILLE, SC (WBTW) – Girl Scout Troop 198 from Bishopville participated in the 28th annual Beach Sweep/River Sweep on Saturday, September 17. They cleaned up Lynches River boat ramps on Hwy. 15 and Kelleybridge Rd. They also cleaned up around an artesian well in the area.

Volunteering for the River Sweep is something the troop does every year. Pictured to the right are Girl Scout juniors, cadettes and seniors who participated. The are aged 4th grade and up.

The girls are working on a coat collection drive as their next big project. Anyone who would like to help with that collection can reach out to the Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina.  Call (843) 552-9910 and ask to get in touch with leaders of Troop 198 in Bishopville.
