The Florence Police Department and the Florence County Coroner’s Office are investigating a death in the 2200 block of S. Irby Street, after a call about a suspicious vehicle.
Officers arrived to the scene at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning, according to Lt. Mike Brandt with the Florence Police Department. Brandt says the death is being investigated as a homicide.
Monday, Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken identified the victim as 31-year-old Kevin Tyler Parker of Florence. The victim will be autopsied at MUSC in Charleston.
Officials have not been able to comment on how the man died. Anyone with information is asked to call the Florence Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
