A person died after being hit by a vehicle in Florence.
Officers responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision around 5:38 p.m on Tuesday in the 800 block of W. Evans Street, according to Lt. Mike Brandt, with the Florence Police Department. The pedestrian died due to injuries sustained in the collision.
Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken identified the person who died as 67-year-old Carolyn Johnson, of Waverly Avenue in Florence.
The FPD is investigating.
Lt. Brandt tells us there are no charges pending at this time and that the driver of the vehicle remained on scene, and waited for law enforcement to arrive.
