LONGS, S.C. (WBTW)- Horry County Police say a 14-year-old boy from Longs died from a gunshot wound on Friday night.

Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard identifies the boy as Taizaun Dewitt of Longs. Willard says he died at Sea Coast Hospital.

Police say around 8:40 Friday night, officers were notified that a teen had been shot and was being transported by another person to Seacoast Medical Center in Little River.

Officers arrived and were immediately informed that the Dewitt had died from the gunshot wound.

Several detectives were dispatched immediately and they linked the incident back to a home on Collins Circle in the Longs community.

Horry County Police search for for Rodrez Daquell Stanley, 21 years old, of Longs, SC, as a person of interest in this case.  Anyone with information on Stanley’s whereabouts is asked to contact the police department at 843-248-1520 or to leave information on our Tip Line at 843-915-TIPS (8477).
