CONWAY- It’s been more than a year since the Los Angeles Dodgers took Conway’s Grant Holmes in the first round of the 2014 MLB Draft, and in less than two weeks the pitchers is headed for his first spring training camp.

Holmes said not much has changed for him since signing with the Dodgers, but he has picked up the intensity during his workouts to prepare for the transition.

“I’ve got friends that gave played pro ball and they say you can’t train for it. It’s hard, but I believe I can take it,” Holmes said. “I don’t normally get nervous, but you know, it’s my first spring training so I’ll have a little bit of butterflies in my stomach, but I think I’ll be fine.”

Holmes reports for training the first week of March.
