MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A police report details how a Conway woman reportedly punched, slapped and held a pillow over the face of her 2-year-old son in attempts to make him stop crying.

Myrtle Beach Police arrested 23-year-old Taylor Keel January 8 on one charge of cruelty to children torture and deprivation, after two witnesses confirmed to police that they had seen Keel “try to hush her child with a pillow over the face and cuffing his mouth with her hand.”

The details in a police report obtained by News13 depict how, on the morning of January 8, Keel reportedly “used a closed fist to the back of the [toddler’s] head a lot of times,” and had smacked the 2-year-old repeatedly in the face. The witness also told police that Keel “is very aggressive.”

In addition, police were told by a second witness that Keel could be heard on the phone the evening of January 7 talking “about selling drugs” before the toddler began to cry, and that’s when Keel supposedly began telling the young boy to “shut the [expletive] up,” and put the pillow over his face.

When confronted by police, Keel denied doing anything wrong and said anything the witnesses said was invalid.

Keel was arrested by Myrtle Beach Police January 8, and booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center the following day at 11:15 a.m. and was released January 10 at 4:51 p.m. on a $1,092 bond. According to online booking records, Keel was jailed November 28, 2015 for violating a protective order under the protection from domestic abuse act. She was also arrested July 26, 2015 for domestic violence third degree.
