A pair of 17-year-old boys from Conway were charged in a Thursday night armed robbery in Georgetown County, authorities say.

According to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, the Dollar General at 8003 North Fraser Street, in the Choppee Community, was robbed around 9:15 pm Thursday.

Deputies say the two suspects — who were both wearing hoodies — entered the store, showed an employee a hand gun, and demanded money. The two armed suspects fled on foot behind the store with the money.

The sheriff’s office searched the surrounding area with bloodhounds before arresting the suspects around 1 am Friday on Highway 701, just south of the Plantersville General Store.

Deandre Dwain Hickman of Accomp Drive and Juwan Dashawn Jones of Will Park Lane, both from Conway, are charged in the incident.

They each face one count of Armed Robbery while armed with a deadly weapon and two counts of Kidnapping, officials said.

Hickman and Jones were transported to the Georgetown County Detention Center where they will be housed awaiting a bond hearing.
