CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – Another suspect has been arrested after a fight and exchange of guns at a fast food restaurant in Conway.

According to Lt. Selena Small with the Conway Police Department, three Conway High School students met at the Taco Bell, located at 2300 Church Street, to fight after school on Tuesday. Two juveniles and 17-year-old Destin Causey were involved in the fight, confirms Lt. Small. When the fight ended, one female juvenile and Causey left in a vehicle driven by Rebecca Minzer, 17, of Conway.

After leaving the Taco Bell parking lot, the trio picked up another 15-year-old juvenile, who got into the car with a handgun and sawed off shotgun, police say. The four suspects then returned to Taco Bell, picking up a fifth person. At roughly 4:45 p.m., the group traveled to Conway High School, where Causey and a female juvenile got out of the car.

Later in the evening, around 8 p.m., Minzer and the 15-year-old who originally brought the handgun and sawed off shotgun into the vehicle met two more people – William Abe John Clemons and Jordan Aaron Brooks – at the Sonic, located at 200 Rivertown Boulevard.

The Conway police report states officers watched as the suspects moved a brown assault rifle and a sawed-off shotgun from a small red car to a blue van Tuesday night around 8 p.m.

A juvenile, 19-year-old Jordan Brooks, 19-year-old William Clemons and 17-year-old Rebecca Minzer were all arrested without incident, police say.

While the juvenile was on the ground, the teen removed a .9 mm Ruger pistol they had concealed and tossed it under the van’s driver’s side front tire. According to the police report, officers also found a small bag containing a leafy, green substance in the juvenile’s pocket. More marijuana was found in the vehicle as well, police noted in the report.

The juvenile was charged for possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful carrying of a pistol, possession of a sawed-off shotgun, unlawful possession of a weapon by certain persons and was taken to DJJ in Columbia for processing.

Brooks was charged in connection with the sawed-off shotgun and Clemons and Minzer were both charged for simple possession of marijuana.  Causey is charged with carrying weapons on school property and possession of a sawed off shotgun, according to J. Reuben Long Detention records.
