GEORGETOWN, SC (WBTW) – The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a Conway man was shot in a county park Sunday.
Public Information Officer Jason Lesley says deputies are asking for information about the shooting that took place at Oatland Park, located in the northwest region of the county. Deputies say the shooting happened Sunday but the victim, identified as 19-year-old A’sharr Kysean Cox, died Monday morning.
Cox was shot after a dispute with other individuals at the county park, according to investigators. Cox was taken to Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital by private vehicle, confirms Lesley, and transferred to Grand Strand Regional Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
