CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – The man wanted in connection to three armed robberies in the city of Conway is now in custody.
Conway Public Information Officer Taylor Newell confirms to News13 that Albert Jamail Hickman, 29, was arrested early Thursday morning. Newell did not release where or what time Hickman was arrested. Newell says that Hickman was wanted in connection to Wednesday morning’s armed robberies at Walgreens, Family Dollar and Southside Pharmacy.
Wednesday evening, police identified Hickman as a suspect in two of the robberies – Family Dollar and Southside Pharmacy – and later made the connection to the Walgreen armed robbery.
Newell says officers responded to the armed robbery at the Family Dollar, located at 3400 4th Avenue, around 9:35 a.m. Wednesday. Within minutes of the Family Dollar robbery, a second robbery was reported at Southside Pharmacy, located at 3320 4th Ave.
Police said those two armed robberies were connected and officers began a city-wide search for the suspect. Police described the suspect as a black male with short hair, wearing a long-sleeve gray shirt and light brown shoes, and later identified the suspect as Hickman. Police say Hickman left both robberies on foot.

Another robbery occurred at a Walgreens in Conway Wednesday morning around 5:48 a.m., according to Newell, but officials could not immediately confirm if that robbery was connected to the other two.
The Walgreens robber was later identified as Hickman and officially named the suspect in all three robberies.
Photos of the suspect from the Walgreens robbery were released by the Conway Police Department.
Newell says Hickman has been charged in connection with all three robberies and more information will be released later Thursday. According to J. Reuben Long Detention Center records, Hickman is charged with three counts of armed robbery, malicious damage to personal property, trespassing, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into jail at 1:31 a.m. Thursday morning.
