Conway police arrest 5 on drug charges

CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – Officers with Conway police say they have arrested five people on various drug charges.

According to Lt. Selena Small with Conway police, officers were on a regular patrol in the Hemingway Street area when they saw several suspects under the carport of a home where police had received numerous complaints of loitering, trespassing and drug activity.

When police stopped to investigate, the people fled into the home. Small says investigators spoke to the home owners who said the suspects were in fact trespassing.

Davonte Shepard,24, Rakeem Onley, 24, and Larry Maple, 21, were arrested and charged with trespassing, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana within close proximity to a school.

Two more people, Justin Bromell, 28, and Anthony Bromell, 24, were also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute within close proximity to a school.
