South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson says agents arrested David Wynn Compton, 55, of Conway, on 20 charges connected to sexual exploitation of minors. Horry County Police assisted SLED, a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, in making the arrest.
Investigators say Compton was involved in sending child pornography via file sharing. Computer-related items were seized for forensic examination, according to Attorney General Alan Wilson.
Compton was arrested Tuesday and charged with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor second degree, and 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor third degree. All charges are felony offences each punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
